What COSMO Challenge is
The COSMO Challenge is a paper-based academic olympiad for school students in grades 6 through 11. It is organized by the Collegiate Organization for Scholastic Methodology Olympiads (COSMO), a collegiate body focused on structured, fair, and rigorous assessment.
The 2026 challenge launches with a single live subject — Mathematics — held on October 22, 2026. Institutes enrol their students in bulk and invigilate on-site — no travel required. Everyone prepares with the sample papers and syllabus published here.
The challenge is designed and administered by COSMO's own team of educators and assessment specialists, with a syllabus and marking scheme reviewed by the advisory council.
